Simply Hospitality was founded in 1999 as an event planning agency, specialized in major civic, corporate and sporting events. Among many other activities, we ran the Host Committee for the United State Grand Prix (Formula One race) from 2000 to 2007.
We needed an online system to manage thousands of volunteers and registrants for the Formula One race, NCAA Men's Final Four, American Association of Museums, National League of Cities, and other major events in our home city, Indianapolis.
We bought and tested a lot of software on the market, but we threw it all away. Nothing could sort and manage data the way an event manager needs it.
So we teamed up with brilliant software writers and created TRS - The Registration System. This initially provided the solution we needed for volunteer registration, but we quickly added conference modules, payment options, and functionality for tours, ticket sales, and more.
The front end - where people register - worked very well. But what made our system unique was the ability to access our data online 24/7, instantly contact our registrants and run reports any way we needed them.
We never planned to sell TRS. But others saw it and wanted it, so we made it available to event managers everywhere.
